11 Best Farmers' Markets from Sacramento to El Dorado Hills

Where's our fresh food lovers? Did you know that Sacramento is home to California's largest Farmers' Market? It is a sight to behold!


Thanks to the mild Mediterranean climate in the Sacramento area and plenty of room to grow, over 50 Farmers' Markets are near the area and offer everything from farm-to-table produce to homemade macaroons that will melt in your mouth!


While Sacramento hosts the largest one, there are several others, too, that you won't want to miss. So, today, we are dedicating our blog post to our favorite Farmers' Markets from Sacramento to El Dorado Hills.


1. The Sacramento Central Farmers' Market:

Located right near I-80, the Sacramento Central Farmers' Market is easy to find. It spans from W St. to 8th Street and is packed with tons of vendors selling everything from fresh produce to delicious macaroons. You can stock up on all your favorite herbs, oils, snacks, plants, and even poultry and beef.


Make sure to come ready and with plenty of time to explore, and keep a hand free to snack on some fresh pastries and sip on locally roasted and brewed coffee.

2. Midtown Sacramento Farmers' Market:

Another Farmers' Market in downtown Sacramento that you won't want to miss is the Midtown Market, which can be found on 20th Street. Enjoy shopping for your locally grown produce while enjoying live music and cooking demos.


This is a very family-friendly market and has a great community feel, so bring the kids, and make time to hit up both sections - the food and artisan market near L Street and the market demo section next to J Street. You'll get to both by crossing K Street. Once you come to this one, you'll see why so many people choose to live in Midtown and never want to leave.


Enjoy the Midtown Market on Saturdays from 8am to 1pm.


3. Citrus Heights Farmers' Market:

Sunrise Farmers' Market pops up by Sunrise Mall in Citrus Heights every Saturday from 8am to 1pm. The parking lot by Macy's is transformed into rows of local vendors offering their freshest flowers, food, homemade honey and much more.


There are plenty of local artisans who are also selling unique goods that would make for excellent gifts and if you get hungry while you're browsing, don't miss the the locally made tamales that will keep you coming back for more.


4. Historic Folsom Farmers' Market:

Downtown Folsom is a festive street that loves to dress up for the holidays and show off during Farmers' Markets. Not only will you find over 40 local farmers showing off their fresh produce, but you'll also find local makers who sell everything from hand-made soap to arts and crafts.


Live music and will make shopping that much more fun. Plus, Sutter Street is a great place to hang out, with plenty of restaurants and historic buildings, too. You'll love visiting this friendly market full of delicious finds.

5. El Dorado Hills Farmers' Market:

After a brief hiatus due to current events, this Farmers' Market is back up and running and better than ever! A sweet Farmers' Market located on part of the street that runs through Town Center, you'll love this quaint, friendly Farmers' Market with delicious offerings and views of the beautiful waterway.


Stock up on gourmet pot pies, freshly made pasta, delicious kettle corn and much more when you visit here on Sundays from May 15th through October, from 8am - 1pm at the end of Town Center Blvd. Go here for more details.


While you're there, stop and have lunch at one of the many delicious restaurants in EDH or pop-in to the Regal Cinema to relax and see a movie.


Daily Certified Farmer's Markets:

Another great way to keep your fridge stocked and your vases full is to visit one of the smaller local Farmer's Markets that are open several days a week throughout the Sacramento area. The market moves to different locations, so you can pick the one that is closest or most convenient to you. 6. Sunday Market at Arden Fair Mall:

This market is located at the Arden Fair Mall in Sacramento!

Hours: 8am - Noon

7. Wednesday Chef's Market:

Need to stock up mid-week or just don't like to go on the weekends? You'll love this Wednesday option to grab that fresh produce and more.


Hours: 9am to 1pm

Address: Located at Capitol Mall and 6th


8. Thursday Florin Road Market:

Make your way to South Sac every Thursday if that works for you!


Hours: 8am to Noon

Address: Florin and 65th


Saturday Markets:


9. Arden-Arcade:

This one is known to have live music, California wine, fresh, juicy strawberries and much more!

Hours: 8am - Noon

10. Fair Oaks - Rancho Cordova:


Hours: 8am - Noon

Address: Sunrise Light Rail Station on Sunrise Blvd.
